Since SharePoint 2019 "modern" pages do not support embedding the "Promoted Links" list web part, we show you how to achieve adding your promoted links to a "modern" page using our "Quick Links" web part (see
Quick Links web part).
Installation & Configuration
- please first download the SP 2019 version of the "Quick Links" web part and then install it in your farm (assuming that it has not yet already been installed before). This makes the web part also available on "classic" pages.
To then also make it available for "modern" pages, please proceed as follows:
- Extract the aewebpart.sppkg file contained in the downloaded zip file
- Upload the file to the Sharepoint App Catalog at “/sites/AppCatalog” (“Apps for SharePoint”).
Please note that this step has to be taken only once, eg. all the web parts share the same aewebpart.sppkg file.
- You now can insert the “AE Webpart” web part onto a “modern” page:
- You now can proceed to configure the web part as shown below by entering the name of your "Promoted Links" list, specifying the width and height of the tiles and the maximum number of columns per row:
