St. Helena School District to Build a Better Web Site
St. Helena, CA, 02/21/05 Parents can now access their childrens school records, locate teachers to get missed homework assignments, and do much more, online. Contracted by the St. Helena Unified School District, School Web Services has reinvented the districts Web site to better serve students and parents with up-to-date information on their schools, including events, meetings, and school schedules. Launched in January, after a sixty-five day marathon collaboration, the site also serves as a resource for publications, reports, and department and teacher home pages, many in both English and Spanish.
Visitors to the Web site, www.sthelena.k12.ca.us, will find an online community forming, one that gives parents, students, teachers and staff a meeting place and information library. The site will serve as an online center, offering discussion forums, board minutes and committee reports. School Web Services, Inc. of Fairfield provided the platform, consultation, and conversion support for the new site, bringing its expertise with schools and colleges statewide. Rob Haley, Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the SHUSD, writes, We have received a lot of positive feedback from board members, parents and community members that say our new Website is great.
