IntranetNow is made up of general purpose components which can be assembled in the order and complement required to support varied site requirements. Dynamic data, which includes user information and much of the design implementation, resides in a SQL database typically located on the web server. Interactive intranet screens provide a high level user interface to quickly implement design modifications as campus requirements change. In addition, IntranetNow can be linked to any number of ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) compliant databases to integrate data available from a wide variety of data sources.

The main site menu, contained in the left page panel, provides the major navigation categories and is available for immediate access on every page. Main menu links call a variety of components including submenu pages to provide unlimited flexibility in site layout.

Each page also contains a header presented horizontally across the top of the page. The header contains page identification on the left and a number of icon links on the right. In addition to the icon links which remain the same from page to page, most pages contain a navigation bar containing text links and spanning a horizontal range just below the header on the right. The navigation bar links presented to a particular user depends upon his or her level of access and are appropriate to each screen.
