H.AlSadder 12/17/2009 09:30 | hi dear;
i want to ask you abt the source of pictures of Van Gogh webpart, i mean is it an internal list that will be downloaded with the webpart itself, or it reads from internet (website)? if so, please provide me with the website.
Best Regards; | | Juerg 12/21/2009 14:14 | H.AlSadder,
the pictures (about 100) are residing on our web server at www.amrein.com, thus the web part will get the images via the internet from our site. | | Waldemar 12/29/2009 11:13 | Hi Juerg,
Thanks for offering these web parts!
I'm using Sharepoint 2010.
can I use these webparts there also?
Could you describe a way how to deploy these web parts into a MOSS 2010 install?
Kind regards,
Waldemar | | Marc Davis 7/13/2011 01:01 | Hi Guys - any chance we can pull these images in the webpart by HTTPS? Our users are getting mixed-content messages because the webpart is trying to pull the content from your site via HTTP. Thanks! Marc | | Juerg 7/13/2011 11:01 | Marc, you can download the VanGogh images from /download/VanGogh.zip and extract them to some suitable local web location or upload the images into a Sharepoint Picture Library. Then add the following line to the AppSettings section of your Sharepoint applications web.config file:
<appSettings> . . <add key="AEAC_ImagePath" value=https://yourserver/yourfolder/" /> </appSettings>
Replace the value with your URL pointing to the folder containing the images. | | Abdul 9/25/2011 08:45 | How come you guys didnt build an install.bat file for this web part? | | Juerg 9/29/2011 12:14 | Abdul,
we will add the WSP solution file as soon as we find the time. | | leslie 6/8/2012 06:21 | Juerg - I downloaded the zip file of the van gogh pics. when I enter the <add key line, it crashes my server - all the way to the root. Any ideas. I think i followed all of your instructions. | | shilezi 6/8/2012 17:47 | very nice web part. i couldn't get a few things to work though and it would be nice if you could direct me on how to. first, being that i have 1sp 2010 server and 1wfe, i added the dll to the gac of my sp server and it got propagated to the wfe. then i added the safecontrols to my web app web.config on both servers. i also uploaded the pics to my picture library on my wfe. the results are - i only see the cool web part in action on my sp 2010 server and cannot on any external client pc because it gives an error..Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type AEArtCollectionWebpart.AEArtCollection, AEArtCollectionWebpart, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=4c06a73dde08d461 could not be found or it is not registered as safe. any help please? | | Juerg 6/8/2012 18:50 | shilezi, can you check if you also added the DLL to c:\windows\assembly on your WFE ?
- use Windows File Explorer either directly at the server or via RDP (but not via a network drive) to navigate to c:\windows\assembly
- check if you can see AEArtCollectionWebpart.dll
- if not, please use drag& drop to place the DLL in the folder.
| | Juerg 6/8/2012 18:52 | Leslie, please make sure to edit the web.config file with Notpad or another suitable text editor (but not with Microsoft Word). If you can't make it work, please send us the web.config file for inspection to [email protected] | | shilezi 6/8/2012 23:17 | Thanks Juerg, It works wonderfully now. | | Robert Schifreen 1/14/2014 19:05 | This web part looks like it would be really useful for us, but I can't get past the "unable to connect to SSP" bit.
This is on SP2010 Enterprise.
I've tried leaving the Site Name field blank. I've tried "current". I've tried mysite (the name of our service application). I've tried mysites.ourcompany.co.uk.
Sometimes I just get the error message. Twice, it killed the entire site collection and I had to delete it and start again.
I've installed and activated the web part using add-spsolution. I've put the DLL in the windows\assembly.
What else can I try? If I can make this work you'll get an order. | | Juerg 1/15/2014 16:33 | Robert, I noticed that you posted your question in the wrong forum, so I have moved it to /apps/page.asp?Q=5785 . |
